TRU EARTH LAUNDRY STRIPS
Years ago, I made the switch from the traditional laundry soap in a big plastic jug over to concentrated laundry strips. I wish I could say that the decision was rooted in some eco friendly logic, you know, doing my part to save the earth, but in reality, I just wanted to see if a single strip could get the clothes clean.
My idea of laundry is throwing an armful of clothes into the machine, walking away for hours, until something triggers me that I have a wet load ready to be thrown into the dryer. I don’t sort darks, lights, delicates, any of that stuff. My way of doing laundry drives the Laundry Goddess (LG) (my picky mother) crazy. I either overload the machine, or don’t put enough clothing in. I learned very quickly to just step back and stay out of her way when it comes to many things, not just laundry! Anyway, we were impressed with the quality of the wash using the strips – does that make sense? The clothes came clean using a strip, there, that’s better.
I quickly set up a subscription on Amazon and never gave them a second thought. They seemed to magically show up whenever LG would yell that we were getting low, I mean, it was pretty great. She would go on about getting “dangerously” low (you know, only having a months supply left, that type of dangerous levels) the doorbell would ring, and POOF the laundry strips had arrived! I love that type of shopping. Then the tariff threats. The impending tariffs made me take a deep dive into the dark web of laundry strips. Who knew there were so many Canadian alternatives? Clearly, not me. The overwhelming popular brand was Tru Earth. I ordered some, and have been using them since, and the transition has been seamless. Not a single complaint from anyone in the home, although to be fair, no one is brave enough to complain to the LG about her doing their laundry. Most importantly, not a single complaint from the LG on these laundry strips.
I now have the amazon subscription set up for Tru Earth, so I can still be the hero when levels gets dangerously low again!
